In these shoes, every walk is a via dolorosa.

  2. Chass says:

    Madonna would wear them.

  3. Jessica Lopez says:

    I dig those.

  4. Kelsie says:

My vote for the survey: Sacrilegious people.

  5. Trivea says:

My vote for the survey: morons who don’t know what a crucifix even is.

Oh, there wasn’t an option four. Never mind.

    • burt says:

catholics shoved the crucifix down the throats of millions of people for hundreds of years.
i’m gonna guess that *most* people know what a crucifix is.

  6. profpotter says:

    That is sick and wrong.

    • francis says:

      OMG… get a life …

    • docdraco says:

Agreed. There is hardly any arch support, and part of the ball of her foot is just hanging off the edge. That is just disgusting, I can’t even imagine how much pain she must be in trying to walk around in those.

What kind of culture do we live in where women are objectified and made into sexual objects just to express their discontent with a religion? almost like the message is, “My faith is crucifying me.” Which, actually, now that I think about it, is pretty clever.

  7. jamisings says:

My vote: Both Lady Gaga and Madonna.

  8. NotAmused says:

I think they are very offensive.

    • Kelsie says:

You know, that was my reaction too, even though I’m not religious, but now that I think about it I can’t figure out HOW they’re offensive. I mean, she’s being brought to new heights by Jesus, and she’s suffering like Jesus (although in a totally different way) and religious jewelry and accessories are common.

    • empiricist me says:

      Please. Get over yourself.

  9. mimi says:

someone who practices a syncretic religion like vodou, unitarianism, and the gonzalez family down the street from me, who have a jesus/lawn gnome shrine in their front yard and a super classy weeping virgin spray-painted on the hood of their car.

    also, a recovering catholic.

    • MissLoralei says:

ROFL at the jesus\lawn gnome shrine

I have seen the kind of cars you are talking about as well. Can’t forget the part where the family name is on the back window.

  10. Carol says:

    Galatians 6:7
    Do not be deceived, God is not mocked;
for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

    This is blashpemous …………

    • docdraco says:

why are you on the internet if you’re against blasphemy (great misspelling btw, i bet god appreciates it)?

      • Kelsie says:

Blashpemous: so offensive it causes you to stutter.

      • bookhobbit says:

Being on the internet and being against blasphemy are not mutually exclusive.
That said, I don’t think these shoes are any more blasphemous than wearing a crucifix ’round your neck. Unless you’re trying to make a case for “crushing God under your feet” or something similar, but that seems like kind of stretching it. In fact, you could even be trying to make the statement “my faith is the foundation of my life” or “Jesus supports me” or something similar.

      • MissLoralei says:

        I think blashpemus sounds dirtier.

      • Essayons says:

Hey docdraco, I appreciate (not really) your attempt to attack one’s piety somehow by attacking their misspelling, but “I” should always be capitalized in a sentence. Decent try though.

  11. Von says:

These aren’t fixed to the feet anywhere, it would be a miracle if you could actually walk in them

  12. Zoe says:

If these were actually wearable I would love to own a pair.

  13. Somebody says:

I think that people who don’t look close will wear them. I mean, I didn’t look close and didn’t see the crucifix until it was pointed out… I personally wouldn’t wear these because:
    a) I don’t want to be displaying my faith on my feet
    b) They’re crazy. The toe is about two inches, and the heel about three.

  14. Anagik says:

All she has to say is that she’s “standing on the promises of Christ her King” and she’d be good with the Pope….

  15. jamisings says:

What I find funny is if you used any OTHER religious symbol, Pagan, Wiccian (yes, they are different as Pagans will tell you), Muslim, Hindu, etc you’ll get thousands of people, many of whom are not even of said faiths, claiming the designer and wearers are bigots, etc etc and so forth. But for some reason Christianity is always fair game.

Can people not see the hypocrisy in that?

(And I am, BTW, Jewish, before anyone says anything.)

The problem is not, nor ever has been religion. The problem is HUMAN BEINGS misusing their God given free will to make the wrong choices. Attack them, not God nor religion.

    • teatime of death says:

and I thought that I was General Buzzkill. you win the most buzz-killing around the interwebs award. As an agnostic, all religions are fair game for me.

      • Essayons says:

Teatime, she’s right. Atheists are foolish to say Religion causes problems. It DOESN’T. Not anymore than any other thing in the history of mankind. It’s always man itself, because we are stupid. STOP blaming religion.

        • Mystyckhan says:

No, religion is not to blame. It’s the people that take it to levels that’s beyond the original intent that’s to be blamed. Personally, while the shoes look like a bizarre Victorian fetishistic torture device and tacky as hell, people read way too much into those. No need to get offended. You’re not the ones having to model those things.

    • miiii says:

i was going to add a very similar comment. i think christians are going through a lot lately, and by lately, i mean for the past ten to twenty years at least. of course, the christian religion has inflicted a lot of pain upon people, but so have most religions. and most usually, it was because some NON-transcendental person was altering the belief-system to fit their own interests.

  16. dmac says:

hey god-botherers, get over yourselves. The shoes look great.

  17. PROUDyke says:

I bet they’re from the House of Christian Lacroix !! They’re absolutely fabulous Edina

  18. alley says:

People who don’t look all that closely and think they’re just fancy twigs

  19. Yellow says:

Nice concept, poor execution. (Oh, I punned!)

  20. GhettoKitty67 says:

Hey, Fab heels…..would look great with a Habit……comeon folks, a must need for every well dressed Nun.8)

  21. canspotemanywhere says:

I just have to point out that there is no way that is a female modeling those shoes. No way a woman would stand in a partial frog splay of legs like that, with toes turned out . . .heck, not even a practiced and self respecting drag queen would stand like that.

Bet it’s some drunk guy who was offered $10.

  22. Sumo Kumo says:

What happens when you break the heal?

  23. Alayha says:

I Would Totally Wear Those Are Are Super Cute!

  24. bltgsandwich says:

    Who will wear these? …

People who take their werewolf-slaying seriously.

‘Cause there’s always a place that won’t permit you to enter with your crossbow and silver-tipped arrows.

    • bookhobbit says:

And as an added bonus, they’d work on any vampires that are still allergic to holy symbols!

  25. liliyan says:

This immediately says … Cleric in Drag…. cant be anything else.. look at those legs and tell me that has anything to do with feminine…

  26. Crotalus says:

Jesus, her feet are dying! XD

  27. Rubywolfx says:

NOOO!!!! Quick, get sesshoumaru! HE’LL bring them back to life!

  28. Rubywolfx says:

    with…. THE TENSEIGA

  29. Fabs says:

I first looked at these shoes and was like, “Wow, that looks painful.”
Then I took a closer look and said “OH MY GOD, THAT IS WRONG.”

  30. Marzipan says:

    He died for your shins!

  31. soso104 says:

Pope: Hot damn! These would go great with my mitra!

  32. i love that atheists/agnostics/ignorants get more possessive of their “jesus” than actual followers of christ. the point of this post is that they are ugly shoes, not an open invitation to leave your wittiest remark about “your” god. i hate religion. i’m very misanthropic. high fives everyone. except the poster that said, “religious win.” YES. you made my night.

  33. Lupusnecro says:

    I smell Gaga.

  34. BARK! says:

I am not sure but, I could swear I have seen these on the feet of one of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. I mean look at the size of those calves! If not, I am know they would love them. Also, I think Madonna might wear these before Lady Gaga

  35. Asheley says:

i just have one question actually. How do they stay on her feet? from what i can see there arent any straps of any kind and nothing at the toes i think it would be difficult to walk in these because u cant keep them on

  36. Pickler says:

I think it is funny that people are offended.

  37. teca says:

religious hoookers and people who beleive in vampres.

  38. brittni says:

People who have a f**king sense of humour.

  39. human says:

Ok – so we’ve gone from God to Gaga and back – does anyone know who designed these? Or at the very least, where this image came from?

This conjures images of the Omen all over again…. sigh
