So you think “Star Wars” reigns supreme in the world of Science Fiction flicks? Of course you do. Just don’t be surprised when people at Comic Con come and argue with you about this tote bag. Because you know they will.

Actually, when you think about the structure of the sentence… it’s saying that being a Jedi is second best.
“STILL no Hogwarts letter? *sigh* FINE, I’ll go be a friggin’ Jedi then *mumblemumble*”
heheheeee Well, it isn’t as if there is a Jedi School anymore… If you can’t get into the established Hogwarts, I guess you will just have to go hunt down Yoda for some Jedi lessons…
Actually, in the professional fanfiction (Lucas has stated that the works that are not novelizations of the movies are not cannon) I think Luke is re-establishing the Jedi and correcting one mistake (the Jedi were never allowed to marry and/or procreate)
Dats a funneh won lolz
… the best bag ever ( so far )
Wow, I want that bag!
Considering that Harry Potter & LOTR are not science-fiction, I fail to see the logic in your assumption that Star Wars reigns supreme in the science-fiction flicks; have you forgotten “Star Trek”?
(couldn’t resist)
Star Wars is way better than Start Trek, but I agree, HP and Lotr are fantasy, not Scifi
I came to the comments specifically to point out the fact that only one of the three could be classified as sci-fi. >.> Though I suppose one could argue that star wars has certain elements of fantasy, making them all that instead.
HP could be sci-fi:
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
Arthur C. Clarke, “Profiles of The Future”, 1961 (Clarke’s third law)
Not really. I think Clarke was an amazing writer, but he missed that fantasy has a mystical element, which sci-fi does not. Evidently, Star Wars is a fantasy/sci-fi hybrid because it speculates about technology, but the main theme is the path of a hero, and there is a great deal of mysticism in Jedis.
hey, um, sorry but star wars is more space opera than actual science fiction. the music, the storyline, the characters, the lack of actual science, all of it screams “NOT REAL SCI-FI!!!”
of course, there’s some argument that star trek isn’t really sci-fi either, but I think it’s far more valid (and awesome) than Star Wars any day
And just HOW were you planning on leaving the Shire and arriving at the Jedi School?
could it be in YOUR TARDIS? Ha!
I am more bothered by the “and becoming a” phrase.
Shouldn’t it be “and become a”?
To reiterate the bag: “…so I’m leaving the Shire and becoming a Jedi.”
OR…
“…so I’m leaving the Shire and become a Jedi”. vs. “…so I’m leaving the Shire to become a Jedi.
Think about it.
Yeah, ‘and become a’ wouldn’t make any sense. It could say ‘so I’m leaving the shire TO BECOME a Jedi’, but ‘so I’m leaving the shire and become a Jedi’ doesn’t make any sense.
I would rather go to Hogwarts any day, though.
“to become a Jedi” is the best phrasing, I agree.
I have no desire to leave the Shire.
WANT !!
I want this bag. Unless it means I have to leave the shire. Because I’m not. Not.
I already tried be come ing a jedi…
Apparently The force is not with me. I’ll probably just return to Middle Earth and poke dead thins in Mordor….
Namárië
This is certainly a must have bag for my next Convention!
